Bela Lugosi was a renowned Hungarian-American actor, popularly known as ‘The King of Horror’. He started off at the ‘National Theatre’ of Hungary where he played various major roles to sharpen his acting skills. After serving in the army for a couple of years, he took part in the Hungarian revolution, due to which he had to leave his hometown. He fled to Germany where he worked as a film actor but later moved to the U.S. in search of good opportunities. There he joined the ‘Hungarian Theatre’ to work in his first English play titled ‘The Red Poppy’.
