Robert Bloch was an American novelist, writer of short stories, fiction writer and screenwriter. He was a prolific writer since an early age and had written various articles for his school magazine. After graduating, he joined the writing group ‘The Milwaukee Fictioneers’ which had many famous writers. Here his talent was recognized which helped him get a job as a copywriter. He wrote a story on the fictional character, ‘Jack the Ripper’ which got published in a famous magazine and was also adapted by radio and television shows. This success encouraged him to write his first thriller novel ‘The Scarf’ followed by various other novels. Although he had tasted a bit of commercial success but his ‘The Psycho’ became a blockbuster novel. This was adapted into a movie which made Bloch instantly famous and helped him earn a fortune.
