Ella Wheeler Wilcox was a renowned poet, author, and journalist. She was known for her unconventional writing and her most notable work was ‘Poems of Passion’. She started writing at a very early age and become a popular poet even before completing high school. She went up for graduation at the University of Wisconsin but her passion for writing compelled her to discontinue her studies. She soon published her first book ‘Drops of Water’ which was a collection of religious poems. She further wrote a couple of books before writing the first most notable poem of her career ‘Poems of Passion’ which turned out to be a national best-seller. She wrote poems that aimed at philosophy which popularized the philosophical movement called as ‘New Thought’. Her poems were very optimistic as they always reflected that ‘good wins over evil’.
